About the Mandatory Placement Test
The Mandatory Placement Test for ITU-TRNC students will be administered online via the Elma Exam Platform on September 15, 2026. Students are required to attend the 11:00–12:30 session.

Important Information
To make the most of the Preparatory Program, you need to study in a class that matches your English proficiency level. If you are placed at an inappropriate level, you will not be able to benefit from the Preparatory Program as expected. Therefore:

• Answer only the questions you are sure about and leave the questions you are unsure about blank. 
• Do not use a dictionary or any other external source, or receive help from another person.

Based on the results of this test, it will not be possible to move to a class at a lower level than the level you have been placed in.

IMPORTANT!

The registration for the English Proficiency Exam will take place from 20 August 2026, 09:00 to 02 September 2026, 23:59 (UTC/GMT+3), except for the students listed below.

Students who have been accepted and registered with 2026 YKS results and students who have been accepted for Undergraduate Transfer with Central Placement Scores for the year 2026 will apply for the exam from 03 September 2026, 09:00 to 06 September 2026, 23:59 (UTC/GMT+3). The relevant category options will be available in the system during this period, and these students will not be charged for the exam.

Attention to students taking the exam in North Cyprus!

Students with pending status who will take the English Proficiency Exam in North Cyprus must send the payment receipt of the exam fee to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. no later than Wednesday, September 3, 2026, at 12:00.

The email must include the student’s full name and student number.
