All preparatory students enrolled in 2025 who did not take the English Proficiency Exam or failed the English Proficiency Exam are required to take the Placement Exam. (Students whose appeal process for the English Proficiency Exam is still ongoing must also take the exam.)

The exam will be available on the Elma exam platform through the account you created using your ITU email address (@itu.edu.tr), 15 minutes before your scheduled session time.

The session information for your exam is provided in the table below. You must attend the session corresponding to the first 2 digits of your student number.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

To get the most out of the preparatory program, it is essential that you are placed in a class that matches your English proficiency level.

If you are placed in the wrong level, it will not be possible for you to benefit effectively from the preparatory education. Therefore:
• Only answer the questions you are confident about, and leave the ones you are unsure of blank.
• Do not receive help from any dictionary, external source, or person.

It will not be possible to transfer to a lower-level class than the one you are placed in based on this exam result.

Exam Guidelines:
• The exam duration is 90 minutes, starting from the moment you begin the exam.
• You cannot return to previous questions once you move on.
• In the Reading section, the relevant reading text will be displayed alongside each question.
• If the exam time ends before you finish answering, your current responses will be automatically saved.
